The story behind Astraean
25 years on this island.
One long lesson.
I am Chrisoula Angelopoulou and I came to Mykonos in 2001, through circumstances that felt more like a summons than a decision, without any idea that this island would become the place of my deepest personal and spiritual journey.
Behind the familiar picture of Mykonos – the parties, the loudness – there is another layer. A behind-the-scenes that connects to the light, the energy of Delos, and the spirit of the place.
In my very first month I found myself in a small group, at a quiet, blessed house, where – without money ever changing hands – we shared healing practices and spiritual work. We began with rebirthing, then came initiation into Reiki, then prayer circles, play, meditation. We tried many things.
It was there that I first met craniosacral therapy, which I later studied and completed in depth.
I worked in parallel in tourism and hospitality, coming to know Mykonos in all its faces. I lived in different parts of the island and came to know every corner of it. In 2009 I served as a guardian at Delos – a decisive year. There, in the silence and the light, I understood in my body that from Delos comes the particular energy of Mykonos. There the words “To be” were born for me, and the lived experience that inside the nothing there is the whole.
After that I ran my own small Greek kouto̱ki for twelve years – a place of food, music, and human contact, where people walked in as strangers and left as friends. In time I understood that place was also a form of healing. Joy, contact, an embrace, a conversation – these too are medicine.
When that cycle closed, I consciously returned to therapy and to spiritual connection with the place.
Today I live in Moroergo, the most untouched part of Mykonos – a landscape of rock, earth, sky, and the Aegean. From there emerge experiences of healing and connection: individual sessions, meditative paths, movement therapy, contact with nature and with light.
With more than twenty-five years of experience in therapy and deep knowledge of the island, I offer visitors to Mykonos experiences of essential connection with the place, at rare and particular points.
Experiences that are not only for the body, but for the heart – for the inner child that lives inside us, and for the tired adult who is thirsty for release and inspiration.
